Lagardere Group is a service company with many retail brands and franchise stores in the Czech Republic. One of their successful brands is Costa Coffee, a chain of 37 cafés in the Czech Republic.
In late 2015, Lagardere offered us the opportunity to design the lighting for a new Costa Coffee outlet in Brno. Based on our good relations with Lagardere, we were commissioned to adapt and improve the lighting concept for Costa Coffee and propose lighting for the new outlet to match the idea behind the concept of Costa Coffee.
Based on Costa Coffee’s café concept, we made a new lighting plan for the café, with more efficient, low-energy fittings such as anti-glare LED spotlights. By adapting the light intensity, we achieved the dramatic contrasts and spotlighting on tables, the counter and other important concept elements such as decor elements on the walls that we wanted.
We added fittings for general lighting such as down lights and track systems. All products are from ITAB Nordic Light. Other decorative lighting elements such as pendants above counters and wall-mounted decorative lighting, were retained in accordance with Costa Coffee’s original plan.

With efficient general lighting, we helped the client save costs on both energy consumption and maintenance. As a result of the first project in Brno, we have also been commissioned to supply the lighting concept for another five Costa Coffee cafés in the Czech Republic. We will continue to develop their original lighting plan with suitable lighting and recommendations for the most appropriate types of LED fitting for each café.
