For DAS FUTTERHAUS, ITAB developed a revised furniture concept that thoughtfully evolves existing solutions.

As one of the leading specialty retailers for pet supplies, DAS FUTTERHAUS sought a solution to simplify purchasing and furniture procurement while establishing clear qualitative, economic, and sustainable benchmarks. The goal was to update existing custom furniture, centralise processes, reduce the number of suppliers, and ensure a visually and qualitatively consistent appearance across all stores in Germany and Austria. Sustainability aspects such as short delivery routes, reduced material usage, and optimised constructions played a central role in the project.
A visionary solution
Working closely with the customer, existing furniture modules, such as checkout counters, feeding bars, various platforms, and shelving, were analysed and further refined. The focus lay on functional improvements, more economical material choices, and optimised handling for daily use and installation. Implementation followed an iterative approach across two pilot stores, where various adjustments were tested and validated under real operating conditions.
The final solution was developed based on clearly defined requirements provided by DAS FUTTERHAUS and enriched with practical details contributed by ITAB. Production takes place in Germany and ITAB’s own facility in the Czech Republic, with particular emphasis on delivery times and ecological standards.
More clarity, less complexity
The introduction of the new furniture solutions delivers clear, measurable benefits. Centralised collaboration with ITAB has significantly simplified purchasing processes and ensured consistently high product quality. Optimised constructions, fewer components, and resource-efficient manufacturing further enhance both economic and ecological efficiency. Thanks to close, solution-oriented cooperation throughout all project phases, the rollout was completed on schedule.

- Targeted product placement for better visibility: The further development of the furniture enabled targeted improvements to presentation areas, directly strengthening product visibility and purchasing incentives in the store.
- Easier to assemble, simpler to handle: Structural optimisations of the furniture are particularly evident during rollout and in daily operations, with assembly-friendly elements and well-considered details streamlining handling and installation.
- Centralisation with economies of scale: By consolidating all custom furniture deliveries through ITAB, processes were simplified, efficiency increased, and resources used more effectively.
