Grand opening of the new Sapori & Dintorni Conad store
The new Sapori & Dintorni Conad store, developed for PAC 2000A Conad, has officially opened its doors at Maximall Pompeii, one of Southern Italy’s largest shopping centers.
Covering a total area of approximately 800 sqm, the store is a unique concept that merges premium food retail with high-quality dining, highlighting Italy’s finest local products, with a special focus on Campanian specialties.
ITAB’s Solution Design team led the entire development of the project—from defining the commercial offer and designing the layout to reinterpreting the “Sapori & Dintorni” brand concept, placing a renewed emphasis on local cuisine and regional excellence.
The project covers a total of 850 sqm, divided into:
- Vincenzo Capuano Pizzeria: A tribute to the Neapolitan pizza tradition by one of Italy’s most renowned master pizzaioli. This space offers a genuine dining experience in a modern and welcoming setting.
- Calise Bar/Pastry Shop: A sweet corner that brings the renowned Ischian pastry tradition to Pompeii, famous for its iconic “cornetto ischitano” and a wide range of high-quality desserts.
- Sapori & Dintorni Area: A true experiential journey that combines shopping and dining, offering a curated selection of Italy’s top food and wine products, especially those from the Campania region. The space is also designed to welcome tourists visiting the nearby Pompeii ruins, immersing them in the region’s authentic flavors.
Design, territory and atmosphere
- At the heart of the gastronomy area stands a striking wooden tree installation, with curved branches softly lit by LED strips – a symbol of roots, hospitality, and warmth.
- The design reflects the colours and materials of the region: light wood, traditional Amalfi Coast ceramics, warm lighting, and backlit scenic views of the coastline. The overall layout promotes a seamless, elegant, and immersive shopping journey.
- The lighting design combines technical expertise with high-performance fixtures to create balanced environments with no visual distortions – highlighting both products and the overall in-store experience.
Efficient layout
Special attention was also given to the checkout area, equipped with express checkouts. Thanks to their compact design and efficient layout, they ensure smooth customer flow and reduced waiting times, thereby enhancing the overall shopping experience.

With this project, ITAB once again demonstrates its ability to design and deliver innovative, functional, and locally inspired spaces, enhancing the customer journey and strengthening brand identity.
