Lavazza's 267-location coffee station rollout
Premium Coffee Group partnered with ITAB to implement a new Lavazza coffee station concept at 267 petrol stations in just seven weeks.
Premium Coffee Group sought to elevate the coffee experience at their client’s petrol station locations, replacing an outdated setup with a modern concept that reflects the premium Lavazza brand. The goal was to design a scalable, high-quality concept that would enhance customer satisfaction and align with Lavazza’s identity without interrupting service during implementation. This project became a showcase of ITAB’s end-to-end capabilities, covering every phase from initial design to prototyping, production, project coordination, installation, and digital servicing.
Insight-driven concepts through customer collaboration
From the outset, the project aimed to elevate the coffee experience at petrol stations while honoring Lavazza’s premium brand identity. We kicked off the process with a detailed briefing and workshop involving all key stakeholders, helping the team understand the client’s goals, challenges, and brand standards.
The aim was to replace outdated coffee stations with a flexible, modern concept that could be adapted to different locations, each with varying foot traffic and spatial limitations. To succeed, the design had to be modular, consistent with Lavazza’s brand identity, and practical for rapid deployment across multiple locations.
By analysing consumer behaviour and location-specific constraints, ITAB and our partners developed a concept that put coffee at the centre of the experience. Digital elements reinforced the premium positioning, resulting in a solution ready to perform and scale across a multi-national rollout.
Every detail matters: design that performs
The design phase balanced creative vision with technical accuracy. Following initial workshops, the team translated the project requirements into early concepts, which were developed into prototypes.
These were thoroughly tested for ergonomics, material quality, and brand consistency to ensure they met both visual and functional standards before moving to production.
Each station was designed to be compact (no wider than 1200 mm), compatible with various coffee machines, and include built-in storage for cups and condiments. ITAB applied value engineering to create a solution that was visually aligned with Lavazza’s brand, cost-effective, and scalable for locations with different traffic levels.
Custom furniture featured branded graphics, finishes, and integrated lighting, along with a 43″ digital screen to add a dynamic visual element. Ongoing collaboration with the client helped refine the design into a practical, production-ready concept that delivered both form and function.
Seamless execution delivering premium value
Rolling out the concept to 267 locations across the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg in just seven weeks required precise planning and execution. ITAB handled the entire process, from removing old units and preparing each site to delivering and installing the new furniture and digital components.
Minimising downtime was crucial, as coffee is a key revenue stream. With clear scheduling, strong coordination with partners, and experienced project management, we ensured smooth transitions and kept disruption to a minimum.
Digital elements add visual impact and allow easy updates to content across all sites, creating long-term value. The result is a premium concept that strengthens Lavazza’s brand, improves the customer journey, and boosts coffee sales.
